This introductory course can be taken at any NYS licensed security training school and acts as the very first step toward obtaining a security guard registration card from the New York Department of State. Without this training no one may obtain a license as security guard. This is a general overview of the following topics:
- The role of the security guard
- Legal powers and limitations
- Emergencies
- Communications and public relations
- Access control
- Different types of access control
- Ethics and Conduct
A passing score on the examination is required to successfully complete this course. The exam will consist of True/False and multiple-choice questions. A certificate of completion will be provided after passing the course.
